Leave it to K-Swiss, a leader in high performance court shoes for over 50 years, to develop the first court sneakers officially marketed as pickleball shoes! Following on the heels of their number one selling Hypercourt Express, the K-Swiss Express Light Pickleball Sneakers feature many of the same technologies, but with a pared down weight due to a redesigned upper. The thought behind the lighter weight was to appeal to recreational players of both tennis and pickleball who want the generous fit and performance of the Hypercourt Express but don’t need the extended durability that comes from the heavier outsole and other materials.
Our take on the K-Swiss Express Light Pickleball Shoes:
We love the Express Light for its modern look with high tech materials for breathability and comfort right out-of-the-box. We also like the clean look without too much fuss or extra visible elements…this one is all about fit and function. It’s nice for us when we have a shoe that most players can put on their feet and have nothing negative (and lots of positives) to say about how it feels!
Fit and Sizing on the K-Swiss Express Light Pickleball Sneakers:
In the landscape of pickleball sneakers, the K-Swiss Express Light is an easy fit for most players who try it on. It runs average to slightly wide all the way from the toe-box to the heel. Lengthwise, it runs true. It has a fairly low arch, so if you need a really high, pronounced arch in the midsole area you won’t find it in this model. The lacing system allows for both a looser or tighter fit by simply letting out or snugging up the laces to gain or limit the fit of the upper. With multiple finishing eyelets at the top of the lacing system, players can tighten more or less over the top of their foot as desired depending how “locked in” they want to feel.

Are these shoes goof for indoor and outdoor? And are they good for someone who has total knees and a spinal fusion?
Yes, they have a good tread for both indoors and out. They are lightweight and have a medium amount of cushioning. For what you’ve been through, we’d recommend the best support system and cushioning that you’d get with the standard K-Swiss Hypercourt Express LTR (leather) or Hypercourt Express. The ExpresLight is a “takedown” of this shoe at a slightly lower price point but you sacrifice some of the suspension for comfort. Impressed with your drive to continue to play!
I’m on my third pair and can’t find anything I like as much, so I’ll just keep rollin with these. They are light and well vented which is good because my feet get hot. I wear them mostly outside, but on really hot days we play in the rec center and they work fine on the gym floor. They fit my slightly wider foot very well. I usually wear a size 9 and that’s what I order in these and that’s just right.
