The Gearbox GX5 and GX6 Pickleball Paddles, beautiful and high tech

24th Sep 2019

We recently welcomed the new 2020 Gearbox Pickleball Paddles into our shop and they are an instant hit!  We love the Gearbox GX5 and GX6 for their clean lines, attention to detail and the fact that they are loaded with a technology that is unique to Gearbox.  For players who value quality and performance, we recommend you check out these paddles.
The GX5 and GX6 pickleball paddles are the most advanced paddles ever released by Gearbox. They feature what Gearbox calls their Patented Solid Span Technology. This technology uses hand laid unidirectional carbon fiber, constructing paddles from the core out. The result is a paddle with no delamination, no soft
spots, amazing playability and unmatched durability.

What makes the Gearbox GX5 and Gearbox GX6 Unique:

Slim Aerodynamic Profile: The thin profile of both the Gearbox GX5 and GX6 paddles is very important. The current trend in the industry has moved towards “thick” paddles. Gearbox has gone in the complete opposite direction, releasing slimmer, aerodynamic paddles. The advantage of a thin profile paddle is it gives it a lot more maneuverability, has less air drag making it fast and responsive and allows for more spin. Gearbox can successfully build thin paddles due to its Patented Solid Span Technology.  Most other manufacturers are currently using a thick, honeycomb, poly core.

Control vs. Power Options: Both the Gearbox GX5 and GX6 have a nice combination of Control and Power. Players are not having to compromise on one for the other. Gearbox however, developed the two separate options as it found players tend to lean towards one play style versus the other. The Control and Power option allows players to further customize their paddle based on their play style and/or play environment.

GEARBOX GX5

As a whole, this collection was greatly improved from the previous release.
Specifically, it now offers a quieter sound and an overall softer feel. It is also now offered in two
versions, Control (with two weight options) or Power. The line also features new cosmetics.

GEARBOX GX6

This is an all new collection and shape for Gearbox. Compared to the more
traditional style/shape of the GX5, the GX6 collection offers a paddle that is slightly longer and
narrower. The paddle also has a longer handle. The GX6 shape gives this collection more spin,
more reach and slightly more power compared to the GX5. Also, the longer handle gives players
the ability to comfortably grip the paddle for two-handed shots.

Whichever version you decide is right for you, rest assured you can't go wrong!
